a litte synesthesia test

Friday, January 25th, 2013

I have programmed a little app which allows you to test whether you are a synesthete. Synesthesia is condition were people associate characters or numbers involuntarily with color. It’s not a very advanced test and it’s meant for mobile (available for BB10). You are running the test at least 3 times. Make long pauses between the tests. In the results you’ll see your chosen colors. If you have a high constancy in your color choice you are probably a synesthete. The big question is, what does the test tell you if you have a high but not perfect constancy in color choice. Well, I think it tells you that you have strong crossmodal abilities.

Although true synesthetes will already know what they experience without doing this test it’s nice for people who want to explore their perception and dive deeper into this field.

Inner clock helps against diabetis type II

Friday, July 13th, 2012

If your inner clock is not ticking like it should it can cause a lot of problems. Not neccessarily diabetis but who could have known that the inner clock is somehow tied to diabetis?

Scientist of the university of california in san diego have found that a protein which regulates your sleep cyclus can block the supply of glucose. People with diabetis type II are not able to dispose glucose, without medicine it would be enriched in their blood until they die. Initially the scientist searched for a molecule to modify the sleep cylcus. They found KL001 which attaches itself to the proteins which regulate the sleep cyclus. Doing so KL001 prevents these proteins from beeing disposed during the day.

The liver has a lot of sugar in it but we don’t need sugar at night. These proteins prevent the liver from providing this sugar to the body.

http://lrrm.de

LRRM has a website. After 4 years of self-employment I finally found the time to build one. It’s not only expensive and time consuming to build a site for our clients but for ourselfes too. Every freelancer knows what I’m talking about.
